Last xmas, certain persons to whom I am married got me an art. She bought a small (about 4x4 inches) drawing from Tess Fowler of Miles O'Brien as the holosuite character Falcon in the DS9 episode "Our Man Bashir."
This was very nifty, and I got a little frame to hang it up in, but where to put it? We're not doing great on empty wall space.
So I've made it a secret art. When I was building out the sliding bookcase separating the lounge upstairs from the guest bedroom, I built a sort of frame for it to fit against, and that frame has a recess about five or six inches wide. I just put a hook at eye level and hung the tiny frame on it, around where that red square is.
When the passage is closed, the picture isn't visible, but when it's open, you can see the picture as you walk past. Secret art of a secret agent.
